Days: 21/21 Teas: 53 Day 18 Today we learned about the history of Japanese buildings in Tainan from the Japanese colonial period by taking an Old City walking tour. We went by the Confucius Temple again and by the Tainan art museum National museum of Taiwan literature which had very different architecture styles based on if they were built before or during WWII. We also went into the Hayashi department store which had the prettiest handmade blue-green tiles from its recent restoration that looked similar to the firing techniques I saw on the Chihkan temple. We went to the fabric market and West market last, sharing a space with the Asakusa market, which is the name of a Tokyo neighborhood. After, I went back to The Spring to see the design exhibit going on and was delighted by all the lights and ultraviolet reflective blast they put in the wading pools.
